  1. I like Feedjit better than any of those free counters I ever tried. I like that not only I can see where the traffic originates, so can my (few) readers. I also like that there’s an “Ignore My Browser” feature as well as a way to erase one’s information on the “real time” page.

I’m not so sure that English would be the majority language on Blogger. When I goof around and do the “Next Blog” thing, I get mostly blogs in other countries.

I like the theme you have going here. I used to decoupage (sp?) with my big sister and made some things that looked like this by burning the edges of prints, etc.

  2. Oh yeah , its so much better than the run of the mill counters out there. and I like seeing where the hits come from and how they find the place. And like you say its nice for readers to see where the traffic comes from as well. I like to do that every so often, do the “next blog” thing on blogger. You come across a lot of interesting things, (and SCARY things too) :o) and yes a LOT of other sites from out of our country.

I tend to keep my browser st on the “ignore” mode most places I frequent, like mine and Alison and yours. Not trying to hide of course, I just sometimes have this bad habit of leaving and coming back and I have noticed a lot of times I end up filling the feejit feed with just my activity! Well I figure you know I am around by the comments off an on, just to want to mes up your feed by my activities ;) You know theres one thing I have noticed a few times and thats concerning anyone coming in from a MS Live Search, well its often splitting up the search phrases into individual hits and I have had up to 6 showing up at the same time from one hit. Odd, but maybe they are aware of it as i see oe tonight is all there is from “Live Search” (still one word in the search and you know darn well an “Iphone” result in a search of my site would have me 30 pages or more deep in a search listing, so maybe theyve figured a way to just filter the other results… well that sounds confusing what I’m trying to say, but I think you know what I mean. My poor body and mind are both worn out these days and I cant think to write a lot of these evenings from getting home.
old age I hear you snickering ;)

You know I really do like this theme a lot myself. Well its probably a bit too much as far as all the images in it, although I have compressed them dramatically from the original theme, its still a lot to load, but I do like the look of it a lot and want to keep it, just need to tweak it some more when i get some time. I eliminated a few of the things in the sidebar as well the other evening, just too much was in it really. I am going to put the archives section and related links on a separate page and just add a few links to certain topics that family and friends of Alison and I would want to find easily. I sometimes forget how overwhelming it can be for someone who is not online to navigate these newer blog formats.
There’s a link in the footer to the site I got the template from. well the second link I tried one or two on blogger but couldnt get one or two of the elemnets working. It wasa cool theme though, a denim jeans sort of look to it, http://www.infocreek.com/webdesign/freewordpressthemes is the one to the free templates, most of them are for wordpress but there is one or two of them having a blogger template as well.

ok better get off to bed, I should be there already!
    Thanks for Posting !

  3. I noticed something strange in my blog (and am going to do a post on it w/ a screenshot) regarding the Feedjit thing and Google’s cached page.

When I click on the cache, I get one or two obvious hits on the feed, but the rest are usually something that I’ve never posted about. I’ll have to show you.

  4. Oh, curious to see what you mean now. well yes I will have to see a picture as my mind is about like a sieve now and am not sure exactly what you mean! :-? Finally have a day off tomorrow so hopefully I can catch up on a lot. ;-)

  5. ok I think I see what you mean, just had a look at one of the cached google pages of your site and none of the links seem relative to your site at all except from my entry at the top of the list. I’m *pretty” sure most of the javascript are actual live renders and not a cached ‘image’ but still it doesn’t explain where the links are being called from, its obviously not YOUR feedjit widget, but one assigned somehow to the cached version, on Google’s server.. somewhere. So I’m guessing you’ve somehow tapped into a feedjit feed that may be googles? Or else Feedjit is able to track any site by IP, whetehr they have a widget setup or not!! :o) thats odd, strange odd… well what I mean is I clicked on the “Watch in real time” link on the cached page and the url was http://live.feedjit.com/live/64.233.169.104/ which is a google IP , likely a data center IP.. so I wonder if adding ANY IP address after the live part of the url will let you watch the hits and where they come from, interesting! WellI’ll let you get your post done and see if this is even what youlre referring to! ;) nice info Mike
