You know it wasn't until after I met Alison that i even thought of getting a cell phone. I never could stand to be on the phone to begin with. After Gretchen passed and Jess came to stay a while of course she had this number and I have calls coming in for her, and then Mom coming to stay well she gets her share too now, along with the telemarketers and wrong numbers ( seems one of the area hospitals has the same number as mine, only a different prefix and then the local pharmacy is one digit off from mine) Well anyone now i want to speak to has my cell number and they know not to call the landline. ;)
I can tell you I really still dont consider my iPhone a cell phone as I use it mainly for emails and texting Alison, I have become quite addicted to that! and its a great way just to keep in touch through the day. I have t say too the rates are considerably lower for phone calls through the cell as opposed to the landline. The first and only time I called her form the home phone it was at the rate of almost $5 per minute! Raped by Sprint.. Embarq now.. well i got the "World Connect" plan from AT&T on my cell at $3.99 flat rate a month and then the calls are about 30 cents a minute.. much more reasonable, and since finding out about Skype I can call through that from my cell for around 7 cents a minute, including the connection fee! :) I couldnt part with this cell now, well i really dont think of it as a cell actually but more a mobile computer ;)
