I remember elle going on a vacation with her family and folks to Canada's Niagra Falls; this was just after she'd been here and not long after 9/11. I'm pretty sure she didn't need a visa to go from Britain to Canada, but I was amazed that she didn't need anything to go from Niagra to NYC to go to Ground Zero!

Yep, agree with you about the illegals. Our newspaper's weekly arrest report looks like a page torn out of the Juarez phone book.

Thanks for posting Mike, appreciate it!
Yes, it's beyond frustrating for sure. Maybe it is us being impatient, but not without reason! But we have to have it dont we? For me there isnt any other choice, I would wait forever if it took that long as i do love her madly. We should have filed the petition sooner I suppose if we knew it was going to be like this. When we first beagn looking into all this, everything I saw and read led us to believe it would be a matter of a few months at most wait. And it was only because of that we waited as we were waiting to try and time it when JM, her son was settled with school and the army and then him going on to further his education and career. You know I honestly thought by August we would be nearing the final stages of her getting ready to move. If there was some sort of actual case correspondence I suppose it would make it more bearable, as it is no one can tell us anything except what we already know, the case is pending.. so we really have no clue to the time frame, and no way to gain any more information, it's just a hell of a lousy waiting game.

You are so right about it probably being a case of them throwing the book at Alison if she were to come illegally. I dont doubt that one bit. Thats one of the things that pisses me off big time as the area in work in has so many illegals already here, and many have been here years and working too! And no one seems to bat an eye at it really. they supply a good deal of the labor force in an area that depends on the tourist season tax dollars. Its all about money isnt it.

I'm not sure if I told the story anywhere of the trouble we had getting Alison back to Cyprus when she was here in May. well long story short it was in the end a case of Delta's computers all having outdated information in regards to visa information. Now she already had the tickets and flight booked, but when we went to check in they were doing whatever checks they do and told her she needed a visa to enter Cyprus! She lives there for goodness sake! well its a long story and i've not the time tonight. But the one thing the girl said really sticks in my mind was her telling Alison she needed to get it sorted fast or risked being deported or detained! No here is someone who has done everything just the way it was supposed to have been done all the way , and heres this idiotic bitch standing behind what the computer says and not allowing her back on the plane! It was a weekend and no one at the British or Cyprus embassy to contact so it was the first of the following week before she finally got it straight and they booked her another return flight. Well i was upset at first as i was so worried how Alison must have felt, stranded and threatened to be deported to the country she wanted to go to anyway?!? I must be missing the logic there... well anyway, the bright side was we had two extra wonderful days together form it, so its hard to get but so upset. ;) well no its not, that woman was smug little bitch from hell... Delta airlines is on my 'do not fly' list now. Well anyway send up a prayer or two for us to have it all sorted soon, verrrrry soon! I miss her, madly.

I can see how this is becoming beyond frustrating. I don't think I could handle it; heck, I can barely stand still to fish, so my patience would've run out a long time ago.

I too can understand about the illegals, but there's a difference: if Alison were here in the country illegally, they'd arrest and deport her. It doesn't make sense that they cannot expedite a case such as yours. -sigh-
