The owner had rented the trailer out to some college kids, and it was pretty well trashed, but they left most of the furniture that was either the kid's or was what the owner put in to qualify as "furnished". There was a lamp that I begged from my mom and she laughingly gave it to me. The base was a native, perhaps African or Polynesian woman, dark skinned and clad in a flowing, loose robe and she was carrying a big basket of fruit on her head. I had plans on painting her, skin tones, coloring the fruit and basket and all that, and decided I'd put that off until the future and was carrying it (and I really called the lamp "her") out to my storage building and accidentally dropped her it.
