Grand Funk Railroad- I can feel him in the morning
20 December 2009
one of the videos I uploaded to youtube from GFR, a favourite song of theirs and one that has had the most views
Track 6 – I Can Feel Him In The Morning
From the 1971 album Survival which seems to be generally dismissed by critics and some fans alike, it has always been one of my favourites. Always will be. If you dont care for it, don’t watch it, and dont let me know why you think its bad. Its not about you, its about the music and what it means to me.

Thanks for posting the song with the lyrics. It’s great that some of the obscure tunes are being heard for the first time on You Tube.
Man, I got this in my reader when you published it and I bet I shared/starred it in my reader, but just now got back to comment.
I love GFR, but will have to admit to not ever hearing this song! Awesome lyrics, great harmony.
Grand Funk Railroad reminds me of those first years after I got out on my own, the early/mid 70’s.
To be honest, your defensive “tone” shocked me, then I realized it was because you had posted it to YT. lmao I swear, I’ve been in political forums where things got rough, but that place is the pits. I’ve got a bookmarklet that I sometimes use that filters out the comments. I don’t even allow comments on my few vids I have there.
Again, great vid!
BTW, I also agree w/ Farner9’s comment. I think I’ll go d/l the mp3 at Amazon, you shoulda put in the affiliate link! (make you 3 cents!)
Happy New Year!
"Grand Funk Railroad – I Can Feel Him In The Morning"
And, they’re $1.99 each, not .89/.99 like I have almost always paid for single songs!
You could make a DIME offa me!
Yeah I guess it did have a bit of a defensive tone to it, really didnt mean it to come out that way, but thats what happens sometimes ain’t it! What happened was I saw some review of the Survival album on some jerks site and it pissed me off! Then i went looking for some of the songs on YT and couldnt find them so I started putting them on YT to share with everyone.
I didnt even think about the affiliate thing really, I already have an account but I just dont bother much with the adverts anymore, guess I should. every bit helps! even a dime! :)
wishing you a great New Year Mike, thanks for posting!
Did you read some of the comments? I didn’t really look at them really closely, but I noticed one taking you to task for it.
Since I’ve been on the ‘net, I’ve noticed a tendency of just about everyone being a bit offended when someone else disparages something we like. Sheesh, I got raked over the coals in a movie Comm. for not really liking Bogart. I upset some women in a recipe site for commenting on a dish with pineapple, saying I’d never even try that; they didn’t care that I also said it was just one of the very few things I didn’t care to eat. Even my eclectic taste in music has upset folks, but recently have argued that his personal life made me not care to listen to Michael Jackson, ditto with actors.
Anyway, after listening to the song again, I’ve dredged up some old memories and think I remember why it sounds so familiar…must have listened to it a single time, maybe on the bus home from a ball game. I know I never owned that album.
Glad you posted, always like to put in a word when you do!
I might be way wrong on it, but this tune reminds me of Uriah Heep a little bit.
