Obituary

Grandy, NC Gretchen Starr Outlaw Weikel, age 50, of 177 Barnard Road, Grandy, NC, died Sunday, August 8, 2004, in the Albemarle Hospital. She was a native of Jarvisburg, NC, and was the daughter of W. Calvin and Ilys Thompson Outlaw of Grandy, NC, and was the wife of Chester Weikel of the residence. She was a member of Poplar Branch Baptist Church and attended The Assembly of God Church in Grandy. She was a very loving person and was loved by all, and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Besides her husband and parents she was survived by two daughters, Tracey Lynn Wilaby and her husband James of Grandy, NC, and Jessica Starr Weikel of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Janett O. Barnard and her husband Willie of Poplar Branch, NC; two brothers, Glenn and Gerry Outlaw of Grandy, NC; two grandchildren, Megan and Grace Wilaby. A funeral service will be Thursday, August 12, 2004 at 11:00 AM in Poplar Branch Baptist Church will Rev. Bill Thorn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the residence. Twiford’s Memorial Chapel 405 E. Church St. Elizabeth City, NC, is in charge of arrangements.
